Scams are everywhere. Phone calls, text messages, emails...nothing is safe and you must be vigilant. You can no longer trust caller ID, and the callers/texters can be very convincing.
The most common type of scams are Imposter Scams. Those claiming to be from the government, law enforcement, delivery service or tech support. Scammers create a high pressure situation that is time sensitive to make you panic and act without verifying the legitimacy of their claim. Never give out personal or banking information, or purchase gift cards. Do not click on links or call the numbers listed in text messages or emails.
All scams can be reported to the Federal Trade Commission.
