Concealed Pistol License

** Changes have been made to this process effective 3/31/2020, due to COVID-19 precautions.**

The Enumclaw Police Department can only process CPL applications for those who reside within Enumclaw city limits. This includes county addresses that have recently been annexed into the city. You cannot substitute an Enumclaw business or mailing address, it is based on your physical home address only.


Disqualifications include being a convicted felon, or convicted of any domestic violence charge. More detail regarding disqualifiers can be found on the CPL application.


Everyone must complete an application (PDF). CPL renewals can be done in person at the PD or via the mail. Original CPL applications need to be done in-person at the Police Department. If you are renewing your CPL, mail in your completed application with personal check to the Enumclaw Police Department at 1705 Wells St, Enumclaw, WA 98022. Please include a copy of a valid WA State photo identification.  Concealed Pistol Licenses take up to 30 days to process. Completed CPL renewals will be mailed to the address on the application.

You will not be notified when your CPL is ready.  If you want to check on the status of your CPL you may by calling 360-825-3505 but please wait a minimum of 2 weeks from application before doing so.


CPL fees may be paid with exact cash, check or money order. Debit/credit cards are not accepted and the Police Department cannot make change. If paying in cash you must have the exact amount.
  • Original License - $49.25 (as of Jan.1, 2019)
  • Renewal - $32 - Renewals can be done up to 90 days prior to expiration.
  • Late Renewal - $42 - Late renewals can be done up to 90 days after expiration. After 90 days you must apply for an original and pay that fee.
  • Replacement - $10 - You can apply for a replacement if you CPL was lost, damaged or if your name has legally changed. If your name has changed you will need to show valid identification in the new name.


Fingerprints are only required when applying for an original license. Fingerprints are taken at the Police Department by the jail staff, and are done at the time of application.

Fingerprinting hours are as follows:
Monday and Wednesday 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Friday from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM


Application Processing Time

Please allow up to 30 days for your application (PDF) to be processed. You can pick up your CPL after the 30 days. Only the applicant can pick up the CPL and valid photo identification must be provided.

Application Denial

If your application is denied you will be contacted explaining your options. Please note - if your application is denied your application fee will not be refunded.
