Visit our Building Permit Exemption page for a list of activities that do not require a building permit. If your activity is not listed, then a permit is required. Even if a building permit isn't required, structures must still meet zoning setback requirements and other permits (conditional use, grading or critical area permits) may also be necessary, so it is best to give us a call at 360-825-3593, or send an email.Building Department

Submit your permit application package to the City of Enumclaw Community Development Department by emailing permits@ci.enumclaw.wa.us. If your total submittal is over 25 MB, please contact the office at (360) 825-3593 for further instruction. If you need assistance finding the correct application or understanding the application/review process please contact our office.
The permit counter hours are from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., Monday – Friday, the office is open to the public from 9 a.m – 4:30 p.m. Monday – Friday, our office is located at 1309 Myrtle Avenue in Enumclaw.

Inspections are offered Tuesday through Friday, you can request an AM or PM inspection, we are unable to guarantee an exact time that we will be there.
You can schedule your inspection online by *clicking here*, please be sure to have your permit number ready.

You will need to contact Public Health-Seattle & King County Onsite Sewage Systems (OSS) to find if OSS review or a permit is required for your project.
Verification from OSS may be required with your building permit application.
Examples include: Additions to dwellings, detached buildings, and remodels that increase the number of bedrooms.
