Municipal broadband within the city limits of Enumclaw would be of great benefit adding to the infrastructure of the city for future use as well as providing a reliable and equitable option for residents and business owners ISP needs. Many other cities in the nation are building their own fiber backbones as to escape the limitations of privately operated entities.
I propose the city planner, as well as the city council entertain the idea, as there are both state and federal grants that can make this a viable investment that will bridge Enumclaw into the future.

It would be a much more pleasant experience if when people are walking around downtown, especially on the Griffin Street, if there were less SEMI's. They barrel through and shake the buildings.

Perhaps if there was a corridor more towards the outskirts or town to use that would be good. Perhaps if the trucks are coming from Buckley to the PGH yard, they can take it to Farman Rd and then left at Battersby to get to the yard.
Another option is perhaps 416th.
The mixed use of industrial with small town feel is confusing. Perhaps there are some compromises or other ideas.

I believe that Dickenson is slated to be extended and cross Hwy 410. This would be a great disservice to our community. Adding more intersections with increasing population and traffic creates a nuisance, not efficiency. There are plenty of places to turn at and little zig zagging on the side streets would be better than stop and go nuisances on a Hwy.
The back up to cross the White River Bridge takes hours already after 4pm. One reason is that town has too many ill timed lights, and in efficient cross streets along Hwy 410.

There is a quick mart (apparently about to rebrand as 7-11) right on the corner of Garfield and 164 and I see young children trying to cross 164 on foot and bike ALL THE TIME. This is a very unsafe situation for the children of our community.
Two possible approaches:
1. Ideally, a crosswalk should be added there. Drivers are within the city limits at that point and providing a crosswalk in such a location adds to overall safety. Additionally (I live on Kibler so I see this a lot), this would add to the safety of children walking to Kibler elementary.
2. REDUCE THE SPEED! The speed limit right in front of that store is 35mph, but changes to 25mph just half a block closer to downtown. If the crosswalk and stopping traffic is a big deal for city council to contemplate, can't we at least move that 25 mph sign down the street a bit farther? (say, on the other side of Semanski?)
