Lundeen Annexation

The Lundeen Annexation area is located along the northern portions of the city boundary. The area was annexed using the 60% Petition Method.

Process to Date
The proponent has submitted the necessary property owner signatures representing 10% of the assessed value. Pursuant to state statute, the City Council was presented with the 10% petition in order to decide whether it would:
  • Accept the petition as presented
  • Modify the proposal (add or remove areas)
  • Reject it

Notice of Intent
On May 24, 2010 Enumclaw city passed Resolution No. 1369 (PDF) - A resolution of the City of Enumclaw, King County, Washington pertaining to the receipt of a notice of intent to annex certain real property known as the Lundeen Annexation, and authorizing the circulation of a 60% Annexation Petition. Open House
An Open House was conducted on June 10, 2010 from 6 - 8 p.m. at the Field House (Pete's Pool) where affected property owners and interested parties were given the opportunity to seek answers from city staff and elected officials.

The proponent submitted the necessary property owner signatures representing 60% of the assessed value on September 8, 1010. The Annexation petition was subsequently certified by the King County Department of Assessments and found to be sufficient under the provisions of the Revised Code of Washington, Section 35A.01.040, on September 15, 2010.

Resolution
On October 25, 2010, Enumclaw City Council passed Resolution No. 1400 (PDF) - A resolution of the City of Enumclaw, King County, Washington accepting the 60% Annexation Petition for a certain unincorporated territory known as the Lundeen Annexation, expressing the intent to annex, and providing for submission of a notice of intent to the Washington State Boundary Review Board for King County. Public Hearings
The City Council for the City of Enumclaw held 2 public hearings on March 14 and April 25, 2011 in order to consider public comment on the proposed Annexation and zoning regulation for the Lundeen Annexation area.

On April 25, 2011, Enumclaw City Council passed Ordinance 2478 (PDF) - An ordinance of the City of Enumclaw, King County, Washington annexing approximately 92 acres of real property known as the Lundeen Annexation, requiring that the property in the annexation area shall be assessed and taxed at the same rate and on the same basis as other property within the City of Enumclaw, adopting a proposed zoning regulation for the real property, providing for severability and establishing an effective date (Lundeen Annexation, File No. 09214).
