268th Ave. SE Annexation
The 268th Ave. SE Annexation area is located north of city limits along 268th Ave. SE, between SE 424th St. and SE 432nd St.
Process to Date
The proponent has submitted the necessary property owner signatures representing 10% of the assessed value. Pursuant to state statute, the City Council was presented with the 10% petition in order to decide whether it would:
On November 22, 2010, Enumclaw city passed Resolution No. 1402 - A resolution of the City of Enumclaw, King County, Washington pertaining to the receipt of a notice of intent to annex certain real property known as the 268th Ave. SE Annexation, and authorizing the circulation of a 60% annexation petition. The full text of the Resolution is available through the City of Enumclaw Administration office at city Hall.
Open House
An Open House (PDF) was conducted on June 10, 2010 from 6 - 8 p.m. at the Field House (Pete's Pool) where affected property owners and interested parties were given the opportunity to seek answers from city staff and elected officials.
The proponent submitted the necessary property owner signatures representing 60% of the assessed value on June 16, 2011. The Annexation petition was subsequently certified by the King County Department of Assessments and found to be sufficient under the provisions of the Revised Code of Washington, Section 35A.01.040, on July 11, 2011.
Notice of Intent
The Notice of Intention to annex was filed with the Boundary Review Board on November 30, 2011. The 45-day review period before the Boundary Review Board expired effective January 14, 2012, as prescribed by RCW 36.93. The Boundary Review Board did not invoke jurisdiction, and a hearing was not required during the public review period. The Boundary Review Board deemed this proposed action effective January 17, 2012 following approval of a revised legal description. No additional proposed action has been received following the Boundary Review Board closing letter (Boundary Review Board File No. 2334).
On February 27 and April 9, 2012 in order to consider public comment on the proposed Annexation and zoning regulation for the 268th Ave. SE Annexation area.

On April 9, 2012, Enumclaw City Council passed Ordinance 2505 - An ordinance of the City of Enumclaw, King County, Washington annexing approximately 101 acres of real property known as the “268th Ave. SE” Annexation, requiring that the property in the annexation area shall be assessed and taxed at the same rate and on the same basis as other property within the City of Enumclaw, adopting a proposed zoning regulation for the real property, providing for severability and establishing an effective date (268th Annexation, File No. 10-124).
